The county's FOIL policy treats the Sheriff's Department and Jail as their own records-access unit. Inspection and copying may be available through the Sheriff or Safety Complex, including the public-record inspection location at 49½ Court Street in Canton. Court files follow court-clerk access rules instead of ordinary agency FOIL, so confirm the proper counter and current hours before travel.
